Morpheus8 Skin Resurfacing
Description
Morpheus8 is a fractional skin treatment that stimulates collagen production of the underlying layers of the dermis. By targeting the deeper layers of the skin, tissues of the face and body can be remodeled to reveal a more radiant, youthful appearance.
Benefits
Radiofrequency (RF) energy is a scientifically proven method to remodel and rebuild collagen. It is minimally invasive, using micro pins to renew the deeper layers of the skin. The benefit of Morpheus8’s color blind technology is that it can be used on all skin types. With this technology, treatable conditions include:
- Acne – active acne and acne scars
- Loose skin and wrinkles
- Excessive sweat from the armpits
- Puffiness under the eyes
Treatable Areas
Morpheus8 can be used on any area that can benefit from resurfacing and subdermal renewal. The most commonly treated areas include the face, periorbital area, abdomen, thighs, legs, and buttocks.
Pretreatment Instructions
Approximately 45-60 minutes before the procedure, a topical numbing agent will be applied.
Expectations
During a Morpheus8 treatment, 24 silicone-coated needles are placed beneath the skin and into the superficial fat. Once the needles are placed in the fat, the device delivers a pulse of radiofrequency energy that tightens the soft tissue, coagulates the fat, and stimulates the production of elastin and collagen. In doing so, the needles effectively contour the face and body via subdermal adipose remodeling, resulting in a sleeker and smoother appearance. Morpheus8 is like a radiofrequency, needle-based facelift, administered without a scalpel and from the “outside-in”.
Posttreatment Instructions
Patients should moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that patients use a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day. In addition to reducing the risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also slow the aging process.
Recommended Sessions
Your practitioner will recommend the optimal number of sessions to be performed based on your personal objectives. Treatment times and frequency will be specifically tailored to obtain the optimal results.
Anticipated Results
Visible results can be seen within a few days, but typically after three weeks, the most noticeable results appear. Improvements continue up to three months after treatment.
Side Effects
Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness depending on treatment parameters.
Cost
Treatments range from $800-1000 per session depending on the treatment zone.
Axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) costs $500 per session.
